By accessing or using FlagDex ("the Game", "the App"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the creators of FlagDex.

If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, you must immediately stop using the Game. Your continued use of FlagDex following any updates to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

FlagDex is a free, browser-based educational trivia game that challenges players to identify national flags and their associated capitals. The game includes multiple modes:

• Classic Mode – identify flags from multiple-choice answers
• Capital Blitz – match flags to their country capitals
• Border Challenge – identify countries from map silhouettes
• Scholar Mode – browse and study flags and capitals at your own pace

FlagDex is provided "as-is" for educational and entertainment purposes. We reserve the right to modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Game at any time without prior notice.

FlagDex is designed to be a family-friendly educational game. You may use the Game if:

• You are at least 13 years of age, or have obtained verifiable parental consent
• You are not prohibited by law in your jurisdiction from accessing such services
• Your use complies with all applicable local, national, and international laws

FlagDex is a personal, non-commercial educational tool. When using the Game, you agree NOT to:

• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with any part of the Game
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Game
• Exploit bugs or glitches in a manner that disrupts others' experience
• Distribute, sell, or commercially exploit any part of the Game without permission
• Misrepresent the Game or its content in a misleading or defamatory manner
• Use the Game for any unlawful purpose

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access for any user found to be in violation of these conduct standards.

All original content within FlagDex — including but not limited to game code, user interface design, game logic, audio, and visual assets — is the intellectual property of the FlagDex creators and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

National flag imagery used within the Game is sourced from publicly available, open-license repositories (such as Flagpedia or equivalent). Flags are the official symbols of their respective nations and are not claimed as proprietary assets.

You are not permitted to reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works from the Game's proprietary code or design assets without express written permission.

FlagDex is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without any warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We make no guarantee that:

• The Game will be available at all times or free from interruptions
• All flag images, country names, or capital city data are 100% current or error-free
• The Game will be compatible with all devices, browsers, or operating systems
• Any bugs or errors will be corrected within a specific timeframe

Geographic and political data (country names, capitals, borders) are presented as educational information and may not reflect the most recent geopolitical changes. We are not responsible for any inaccuracies in this data.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, FlagDex and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Game.

This includes, but is not limited to, any loss of data, loss of progress, or technical issues encountered during gameplay. Since FlagDex is a free educational game, total liability (in any case) shall not exceed zero monetary compensation.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless FlagDex and its creators from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt arising from:

• Your use of and access to the Game
• Your violation of any term in these Terms & Conditions
• Your violation of any third-party rights, including without limitation any intellectual property rights

FlagDex may load resources from third-party services, including:

• Google Fonts API — for loading the "Press Start 2P" and "Nunito" typefaces
• Flagpedia (or equivalent CDN) — for serving national flag images
• Web Audio API — a browser-native interface for game sound effects

We are not responsible for the practices or content of any third-party services. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make significant changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

Your continued use of FlagDex after any changes to the Terms constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you disagree with the updated Terms, you should stop using the Game.

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the applicable jurisdiction.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
